The Desk[Five] is the cornerstone of our operator console range, its name derived from the five dedicated playbacks that sit at the heart of its design. Engineered by operators, for operators, it provides intuitive real time control of any automated element on a production and runs Absolute Motion Control’s proprietary Motion software for seamless front end operation.
Designed to scale from intimate venues to large format multi-axis productions, the Desk[Five] features an integrated touchscreen interface with support for multiple external touch displays, giving operators the flexibility to curate their ideal control environment. Each playback features its own tactile joystick for precise speed override, while a global master override allows for rapid on-the-fly speed adjustments during live operation, ensuring both responsiveness and confidence under
pressure.
Safety is built directly into the hardware, with an onboard hold-to-run button (or optional external foot pedal) and an integrated emergency stop capable of achieving the Emergency Stop safety function up to SIL3. These features provide reliable, compliant control for any axis of automation.
The Desk[Five] has been designed for life in the wings: rugged internal power supplies, dual gooseneck LED lamps for low-light operation, and a multifunction RGB LED status bar for immediate visual feedback of system state. Compact, robust, and refined, it’s a console built to perform wherever the show takes it.
The Desk[Pad] is the compact, handheld counterpart to the Desk [Five], delivering the same operator-led design philosophy in a highly portable form. Engineered by operators, for operators, it provides intuitive real-time control for productions where a full multi-playback console isn’t required, ideal for touring shows, rehearsals, small venues, and focused single-axis control.
Despite its reduced footprint, the Desk[Pad] runs the exact same Motion software as our larger consoles, ensuring a seamless workflow for operators transitioning between control surfaces. This software parity eliminates unnecessary retraining, accelerates setup time, and maintains a consistent user experience across multiple production scales.
