Madama Butterfly

Overview:

Absolute Motion Control were delighted to return to the Royal Opera House for this production of Madama Butterfly. Having supplied the automation package for the 2023 season, Absolute were asked back to re-install the production’s automated elements.

The set featured five louvred panels that flew in and out and tilted, allowing lighting effects to project through the louvres, along with five screens that flew in and out to form the back and side walls. In addition, a floor track winch moved the stage upstage and downstage. The entire system was powered via an uninterruptible power supply, so the floor track could still be moved clear of the iron in the event of a total loss of power.
