Absolute Motion Control were selected by Production Manager Lloyd Thomas to supply the automation package for Teeth ’N’ Smiles at the Duke of York’s Theatre, including a large friction-driven band truck and three RoRo Winches.
The band truck incorporated a custom engineered truck base (designed by Deadline Technical Management), housing a pair of coupled servo drive units to propel the truck smoothly upstage and downstage. All drive components were neatly integrated onboard the truck itself, creating a compact and self contained solution. Cable management for Automation, Sound and Lighting departments were carefully routed within a dedicated cable chain system, protecting the cabling from wear and damage during repeated movement throughout the production run.
To achieve reliable and repeatable positioning, Absolute Motion Control supplied an external friction driven encoder system, ensuring the truck consistently moved to precise locations performance after performance.
